Pat on the Back Awards Ceremony 2016

Please join WECEC for the annual judging ceremony for the Pat on the Back Awards.

Seven groups have been shortlisted this year to present their environmentally-beneficial ideas to a panel of WECEC judges. Four groups will each receive a $500 award to implement their idea, as well as a commemorative plaque.

Green Speaker Series: Dr. Jason Thistlethwaite

The Windsor-Essex County Environment Committee's Green Speaker Series is returning May 3rd, 2016 with a captivating presentation by Dr. Jason Thistlethwaite, titled "A Financial Survival Guide to Climate Change".

Dr. Thistlethwaite is an Assistant Professor at the University of Waterloo and the Director of the Climate Change Adaptation Project Canada. The presentation will focus on sustainable flood risk management and its associated socioeconomic considerations.

The event is free to attend, and is scheduled for 7:00pm Tuesday May 3rd at the Ojibway Nature Centre.

April 24th is Windsor-Essex's annual Earth Day event - the day we recognize and celebrate our great common thread, and the day we educate and reaffirm our responsibility to preserve and cherish it.

WECEC will we at Earth Day providing information on its unique role in environmental governance within Windsor and Essex County. We invite you to drop by our booth in the Malden Park Visitor's Centre between 10:00-3:00
