WECEC 2016

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

The successful conclusion of the United Nations Conference of Parties in Paris, closely coinciding with NASA's announcement that 2015 broke 2014's inauspicious title as the warmest year on record, has driven climate change and sustainability into the global forefront in 2016.

WECEC is dedicated to doing its part to ensure the citizens of Windsor and Essex County are well prepared and informed for the implications resulting from both climate change and measures undertaken to address it.

To that end, WECEC is dedicating the first two Green Speaker Series events of 2016 to climate related topics.

Peter Garforth, the Principal of Garforth International llc, will be speaking on the City of Windsor’s Municipal Energy Plan, kickstarting the City's citizen consultation process.

Dr. Jason Thistlethwaite, Assistant Professor at the University of Waterloo, will be delivering a presentation titled "A financial survival guide to climate change: Start saving now".

Times and location will be announced once finalized.
